Compare the Pot Luck Carrier Blue Zen and Apple Blossom prints on colour, price and cotton drill construction, then choose the one that fits your table and budget.
Quick answer
Choose Blue Zen if you want a bolder, graphic print and don't mind paying a little more; choose Apple Blossom if you prefer a softer apple-green floral and want the lower price. Both are the same 47cm double-layer cotton drill carrier, so the decision comes down to print and budget.
What actually differs between Blue Zen and Apple Blossom
The functional build is identical: both carriers are about 47cm square, double layered, with tags on every corner for the handle. That means plate size, bowl size and carrying method are not deciding factors here. The real differences are the print character and the price.
Blue Zen uses a graphic Blue Zen Lines print, which reads as more contemporary and contrasts with most table settings. Apple Blossom is a soft apple-green blossom print, which reads as more traditional and blends into garden or picnic settings. Neither is objectively better; they suit different tables and different hosts.
The price trade-off
At the supplied catalog prices, Blue Zen is USD 31.05 and Apple Blossom is USD 28.35, both against a USD 45.00 comparison price. The gap is small in absolute terms, so if you strongly prefer one print, the price difference should not override that preference.
If you are buying several carriers as gifts or for a shared kitchen, the lower Apple Blossom price adds up and may let you buy more. If you are buying one carrier for yourself, the Blue Zen print is the only reason to pay the extra USD 2.70.
Cotton drill construction and what it means for use
Both carriers are made from 100% cotton drill, and Blue Zen is specifically described as fairtrade organic cotton drill. Cotton drill is a durable, firm weave that holds its shape when carrying a plate or bowl, which is why the carrier can be trussed up with a handle.
The double-layer construction and corner tags are the load-bearing parts: the layers spread weight and the tags form the handle. The print does not change how much the carrier can hold, so do not choose a print expecting better performance.
Decision rules for choosing between the two prints
- If your table is neutral or modern: Pick Blue Zen. The Blue Zen Lines print gives a graphic contrast against white, grey and wood tables, so the carrier reads as a deliberate accessory rather than blending in. Check your most-used serving dishes: a bold print can overwhelm a very busy patterned table.
- If your table is floral or garden-style: Pick Apple Blossom. The soft apple-green blossom print sits naturally with floral china, outdoor timber tables and picnic blankets, and it is the lower-priced option.
- If you are buying more than one: Compare the total: at the supplied prices, two Apple Blossom carriers cost less than two Blue Zen carriers. If you need matching carriers for a group, the lower price per unit matters more than the print. Confirm current prices at checkout; catalog prices can change.
- If you are buying as a gift: Choose the print that matches the recipient's kitchen or garden colours, not your own. Blue Zen suits minimalist kitchens; Apple Blossom suits cottage, floral or orchard-style homes.
